How it works
Steadyhand stays present through every stage — guiding you, protecting you, and making sure you always know what happens next.
Before work starts
Find the right tradie, understand what you are being quoted, and agree on every detail before work begins. Nothing starts until both parties sign the scope.
During the job
Work happens in approved stages. You release payment only when each milestone is complete. Progress photos keep you informed. Scope changes are agreed in writing.
After it is done
A structured sign-off starts your warranty period. A warranty certificate is issued to your document vault. Issues logged within the period are tracked against a response SLA, with workmanship and product issues recorded separately.

Most homeowners go into a renovation without knowing what fair pricing looks like or what the law actually guarantees them. These guides change that.
WA Warranty Guide
Every Australian state has statutory warranty obligations that apply to all home building work. Most homeowners don't know what they are — or how to enforce them. This guide covers defects liability, the relevant building legislation in your state, and what to do when something goes wrong.

Trade pricing varies enormously — and without a benchmark, you can't tell if a quote is fair. Our cost guides cover electrical, plumbing, painting, tiling, roofing, landscaping and more, with realistic price ranges based on actual job data.
Why Steadyhand is different
Every other trades platform was built around the tradie — to help them find leads. Steadyhand was built around the client.
Steadyhand earns only when work is completed and approved. We have no incentive to fill your shortlist with the highest bidder.
Every job includes a pre-signing Dialogue Rating across six dimensions — pricing transparency, compliance, risk, timeline and more.
Use Xero for invoicing or your own CRM for quoting — bring the signed document back to Steadyhand for warranty tracking.
Every trade business has their licence and insurance verified before they appear in any shortlist. Verification is a requirement.
Clients can send an optional contribution to any tradie who went above and beyond. It goes directly to the tradie with no fees taken by Steadyhand.
Your signed scope agreement and warranty certificate are stored in your vault and downloadable at any time — useful for insurance claims, property sales, or disputes.
For trade businesses
Steadyhand helps trade businesses become more professional, more compliant and more digitally capable — without disrupting how you already work.
Every job you complete builds your Dialogue Rating average. A high score signals to future clients that you engage transparently on pricing, compliance and risk — before work begins.
Your scope agreement is stored permanently against every job. No more disputes over what was agreed. No more chasing signed documents.
Once the client signs off on the completed work, a single payment is processed through Stripe. Funds go directly to your bank account. Steadyhand takes 3.5% — only when you get paid.
Clients can send an optional contribution if you went above and beyond. It goes directly to your account with no fees taken by Steadyhand.
